APEX charitable Trust

Apex Charitable Trust works across North West England and seeks to help people with criminal records obtain appropriate jobs or self-employment by providing them with the skills they need in the labour market and by working with employers to break down the barriers to their employment.

Provides a variety of educational programmes that can give ex-offenders qualifications and skills, in order to facilitate finding a job

Step Together provide tailored one-to-one support to help individuals into volunteering placements that match their needs and interests, and help them develop the personal and practical skills required to build a more positive future.

St Giles Trust

St Giles Trust runs a range of services designed to help ex-offenders; employment, support, community based training, and housing/emergency accommodation.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers is a national charity that reduces re-offending among young people through providing volunteer mentors. They reduce re-offending in young people by helping them change their attitude, thinking and behaviour through intensive mentoring, advice, advocacy and targeted specialist support.

Unlock

Unlock is an independent charity for people with convictions who are dealing with the effects of having a criminal record. They give advice and support across many areas such as: how to disclose to employers, criminal record checks, getting insurance and travelling abroad through their confidential peer-run helpline.

Women In Prison

Women in Prison is a women-centred, women-run organisation that provides specialist services to women affected by the criminal justice system both in prison and in the community throughout England.

Working Chance

Working Chance is a charity which helps women offenders navigate the transition into employment, helping them find paid work and offering voluntary placements.

Clean Sheet

A registered charity with one simple purpose – to offer people with convictions the hope of a better future by finding sustainable employment. The first step to becoming a Clean Sheet Member is by filling out their membership module

Ban the Box

This campaign calls on employers to remove the criminal conviction tick box from application forms to give people with convictions a fair chance to compete for jobs. Ban the Box, has now reached the encouraging milestone of over 1 million jobs, which no longer ask for details of criminal convictions up-front.

Employers Forum for Reducing Reoffending

The Employers' Forum for Reducing Re-offending (EFFRR) is a HMPPS-led initiative chaired by Greggs Retail and People Director, Roisin Currie. It is a collective of local and national employers that provide training and employment opportunities for offenders, including Greene King, Timpson, Marks & Spencer, Willmott Dixon and many more.

Emmanuel house

If you are at risk of homelessness, this is a good charity to talk to. They also have social inclusion activities to help homeless become more integrated in society – can improve and develop confidence and speaking skills, which are essential skills needed to find a job

The ‘Step Forward Employability’ programme helps people get skills to get back into work. The Arches is a charity inspired by Christian motives and values, so if you are a Christian and need help to back into work, you might want to try this programme

Indeed is a worldwide employment website where employers post listings about part-time, full-time and work from home jobs. 

Reed is the largest recruitment service in the UK, where you can find information on jobs by sector, and by location. They also offer free online courses aimed to develop a range of skills to make you stand out to employers. 

Jobsite is a website which makes it easier for recruiters to find you by allowing you to upload your CV. It also lets you search for jobs by title, company or any relevant skills you may have. 

Totaljobs is another great job-finding website which allows you to create a profile with all your details and maximise the amount of jobs you can apply to.

CV Library is one of the UK's first employment websites making it reliable and bound to help you find suitable employment. 

The UK Government website provides you with a database which  you can use to  search and apply for jobs with.
