Who are we?
The Unbarred Project is a volunteering initiative under the University of Nottingham Pro Bono Society. We seek to reduce the barriers that offenders face when they leave prison and facilitate reintegration into society in any way we can. This website is primarily a source of information, resources and guidance to help you as you reintegrate.
What are we up to?
What do we do?
Our students and volunteers have a passion for the justice system, rehabilitation and penal reform. As part of The Unbarred Project, we visit a variety of prisons across the East Midlands to conduct workshops for soon to be released inmates. We seek to support them at every stage of their transition by giving our members a platform to inspire positive change for the most vulnerable and stigmatised in society. For these reasons, it is something highly recommended to anyone with an interest in rehabilitation.
